Who doesn't love some homemade strawberry jam? After picking some organic strawberries in a field, I decided to make some jam. I opted for strawberries with lemon and strawberries with ginger. Take a look at this one I made. It is absolutely delicious!
Besdies being healthier and tastier than the jams we buy at the supermarket, the act of cooking is a magical one. It transmutes our psychological states, working as a therapy. Give yourself this little present and try to make your own homemade jam.
Here is the recipe:
2 handfull fresh strawberries
2 cups of sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice
Wash the strawberries and crush them into a large saucepan. Add sugar and the lemon juice. Stir over low heat until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture boils. Lower the heat and let it simmer until there is a thicker consistency.
Try the jam and fix the sugar/acidity according to your own taste. Let it cool down and transfer to a sterile jar, leaving 1-2 cm headspace and close it. Add a tag with the flavor and date you made the jam. It lasts up to a month if kept refrigerated.
